At softlanding we offer a number of seminars, which are not only related to language, but also to the country you have moved to. Things probably work differently here than in the country you come from. The political system is different, the school system is flexible, however hard to understand, Swiss German sounds alien during the first times you’ll hear it.

Those seminars are either offered as a part of a corporate package or you can come and join them in our facilities free of charge.

In a 90 minutes session we are demystifying this language and explain the major differences between High German and Swiss German. After the seminar, understanding Swiss German will be much easier. Promised. 

What do you know about Swiss Politics, or more to the point: what do you want to know about it? Switzerland is one of the very few countries with a very direct democracy. Voting about issues of the state and the people seems to be a regular occurrence. But how does that work and who is actually ruling the country and how? We’ll try and answer those questions to give you a basic idea!

Something else which takes a lot of time to understand, unless you know somebody explaining the details to you. As of which age do children enter school? What are the different levels of school? What is the “Kanti” and why does everybody in this country seem to go through a “Lehre” at the early age of 16? We’ll talk you through the system, explain the pros and cons and answer your questions as well as we can.
